During the feast, numerous political and paramilitary groups of Kildare assembled here. His grave is present at the Bodenstown graveyard in the Sallins village. This parish cemetery and the golf club are the most prominent features of the town. In the medieval period, the major source of employment for the locals of the town was the Odlum's Flour Mills and a meat factory.
